Türkiye Deploys Six F-16 Jets to Northern Cyprus Amid Regional Tensions
Türkiye's Defense Ministry announced the deployment of six F-16 fighter jets and air defense systems to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as part of a phased security plan initiated Monday. The move aims to strengthen security in response to escalating regional tensions.
The ministry stated that additional measures could be implemented based on future evaluations of the situation. This deployment coincides with increased military collaboration between the Greek Cypriot administration and Western nations, including Greece's recent reinforcement of security with Greek frigates and F-16s. Additionally, French President Macron plans to visit Cyprus to discuss security cooperation amid these tensions.
