Türkiye Invites South Korean Investment for Nuclear Energy Projects

Türkiye is inviting South Korean companies to invest in its energy sector, emphasizing nuclear energy and renewable resources. Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar made this appeal during a roundtable in Seoul, highlighting Türkiye's growing energy capacity and ongoing nuclear projects.

Türkiye is preparing to operate the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and is in talks for two additional NPPs in Sinop and Thrace. Türkiye aims for 20 GWe of nuclear capacity by 2050 and views nuclear power as vital for energy security. Bayraktar engaged with KEPCO to discuss cooperation and technical reviews for ongoing projects.
