Türkiye Launches 5G Initiative Promising Nationwide Coverage by 2028
President Erdoğan's 5G vision aims for full national coverage in two years, emphasizing digital sovereignty and security. The initiative involves 60% local component production and marks a significant investment in Türkiye's digital infrastructure.

Türkiye's 5G rollout is set for nationwide coverage within two years, relying initially on 60% domestically produced components. The deployment will focus on the centers of all 81 provinces, with full implementation expected by 2028.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance national security, emphasizing data protection and cybersecurity. Türkiye's fiber-optic network has expanded significantly, reaching 657,000 kilometers, and broadband subscriptions have surged to 98 million.
The establishment of a Cybersecurity Presidency has strengthened the nation's defenses against cyber threats. With 5G's high-speed, low-latency capabilities, significant improvements in operational efficiency and productivity across various sectors are anticipated. The integration of advanced technologies, including edge computing and IoT, will facilitate transformative changes in industry.
