Türkiye to Expand LNG Gasification Capacity with New FSRUs in Hatay and Mediterranean
Türkiye is set to double its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) capacity in Hatay and construct an additional terminal on the Mediterranean coast, as announced by Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar. The new FSRU will have a daily regasification capacity of 28 million cubic meters, raising the country's total capacity to 200 million cubic meters and helping to meet over half of Türkiye's liquefied natural gas needs. A new FSRU will also be built between Gazipaşa and Anamur to further enhance the energy infrastructure.

Türkiye plans to double the capacity of its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Hatay and construct an additional terminal on the Mediterranean coast. Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that the new FSRU will have a regasification capacity of 28 million cubic meters (mcm) daily.
The existing Ertuğrul Gazi FSRU currently converts about 28 mcm of liquefied natural gas to gas daily, supplying Hatay, Osmaniye, and 17 surrounding provinces during winter. The expansion will increase Türkiye's daily gasification capacity to 200 mcm, enabling the country to meet over half of its LNG needs. Additionally, a new FSRU will be built between Gazipaşa and Anamur to enhance energy infrastructure.
