The 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) will take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from October 5-9, 2026, attracting over 10,000 space professionals and approximately 50 astronauts. This event marks a significant milestone for Türkiye's space ambitions, as highlighted by Yusuf Kıraç, chair of the Turkish Space Agency (TUA).

Kıraç noted that Türkiye is progressing with its national space program, initiated in 2021, which includes plans to establish a spaceport abroad by early 2027. The IAC has been held annually for 77 years, with 604 members including major space agencies like NASA. The congress aims to enhance Türkiye's strategic capabilities in space, paralleling its advancements in the defense industry.
