Türkiye to Launch First TF-2000 Air Defense Destroyer by 2027
The TF-2000 air defense destroyer, set to launch by the end of 2027, will enhance Türkiye's naval capabilities with dedicated air defense. The ship will integrate with national interception systems and is part of a broader modernization that includes an aircraft carrier and new submarines. It features a 96-cell vertical launch system, advanced sensors, and is designed for operations in the Aegean Sea and Eastern Mediterranean.

Türkiye's first TF-2000 air defense destroyer is scheduled for launch by the end of 2027, enhancing the Turkish Naval Forces' capability to counter long-range aerial threats. The project includes the completion of steel cutting and hull block placement planned for March 2026.
The destroyer will have a length of 149 meters, a beam of 21.3 meters, and a draft of 5.75 meters, with a displacement of about 8,300 tons. The TF-2000 will feature a 96-cell vertical launch system for various missiles, including Siper and Hisar systems. It is designed for extended operations in the Aegean Sea and Eastern Mediterranean, and part of a wider modernization effort alongside an aircraft carrier and new submarines.
