Türkiye's HAVELSAN Demonstrates POYRAZ Drone Swarm for Autonomous Combat Operations
HAVELSAN demonstrated its POYRAZ drone swarm in a live field activity, showcasing Türkiye's autonomous Digital Troops concept. The event aimed to validate the swarm's autonomous mission execution, kamikaze attack profiles, and multi-target engagement capabilities.
Utilizing a distributed swarm control approach, the drones maintained operational continuity despite simulated communication disruptions. The swarm autonomously divided into sub-swarms to engage multiple targets and exhibited fault tolerance, allowing malfunctioning drones to disengage without affecting overall mission execution.
The demonstration emphasized integration with surveillance UAVs to process target data autonomously, supporting a modular approach to targeting. The POYRAZ quadcopter and BULUT UAV with GIMBAL 275 capabilities were highlighted as key components. This event aligns with Türkiye's strategy of enhancing domestic defense capabilities and underscores the growing significance of swarm warfare in contemporary security contexts.
