TASEZ has secured more than R5.6 billion in private sector investments, surpassing its Phase 1 target of R3.4 billion. The zone has created about 7,887 jobs, significantly benefiting local communities, especially from surrounding townships.
Current procurement data indicates allocations of 6.2% to women-owned businesses and 18% to youth-owned companies. The TASEZ Academy is focused on preparing the workforce for advancements in automation and electric vehicles.
With strong governance evidenced by four consecutive clean audits, TASEZ aims to align with governmental support for expanded infrastructure and economic participation. The next phase will focus on enhancing SMME roles and positioning TASEZ as a hub for regional automotive trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
