Turkey has recently expanded its defense industry's international presence by signing seven strategic agreements focused on military system development with partners from Europe, Canada, and Asia. Key partnerships include the development of unmanned underwater systems with Canada and AI collaboration with the UAE.
The agreements were highlighted at the SAHA EXPO defense fair in Istanbul, aiming to strengthen Turkish companies' foothold in European markets. A significant detail causing unrest in Greece involves Baykar's agreement with French Safran to integrate Euroflir optical systems into Bayraktar TB2 drones.
Additionally, Turkey is enhancing its ties with Italian defense firms for UAV projects and establishing a long-range munitions facility in Estonia, estimated to cost around €300 million. Turkish firms are also engaging in collaborations in Latin America, showcasing their technologies at FIDAE 2026 in Chile.
