Turkish Airlines Transfers Airbus A319 to Albanian Government Under Bilateral Grant Agreement

DEFENSE

Turkish Airlines will transfer ownership of an Airbus A319-115J, valued at $11.9 million, to the Albanian government under a bilateral grant agreement. The aircraft, registered as TC-GVC and manufactured in February 2000, remains certified for flight operations.

This donation aims to reinforce friendly relations and cooperation established under the 1992 Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation. The agreement reflects both countries' commitment to enhancing partnerships in civil aviation and defense logistics, while symbolizing Türkiye's support for Albania's regional development.

The aircraft will be delivered without financial obligations for Albania, with Türkiye covering transfer costs. The A319-115J, part of the A320 family, has a maximum taxi weight of 75,900 kg and is powered by two CFM56-5B7/P engines. Turkish Airlines operates a fleet of 515 aircraft, including six Airbus A319-100 jets.
