A Turkish F-16 fighter jet crashed in Balikesir Province, killing pilot Air Force Major Ibrahim Bolat. The jet took off from the 9th Main Jet Base Command at 12:56 a.m. local time and subsequently lost radio contact and radar tracking.

Search and rescue operations were initiated, and the wreckage was later found.
