Turkiye and Libya's Haftar Strengthen Military Ties Amid Regional Dynamics

Turkiye is expanding military cooperation with Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA), indicating a significant strategic shift from backing the Tripoli government. This cooperation includes developing military facilities, advanced surveillance systems, and training programs for eastern Libyan officers in Turkiye, led by Saddam Haftar's regular meetings with Turkish officials.

Egypt, traditionally a supporter of Haftar, shows no signs of concern, as sources indicate that Ankara coordinates actions in Libya with Cairo. This cooperation may align with Egypt's interests by limiting LNA support for the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan and filling potential vacuums in the region.

However, experts caution that any permanent Turkish military presence near Egypt's borders could escalate regional tensions. The situation reflects a move toward flexible partnerships rather than rigid polarization in the Libyan context.
