Tyndall Air Force Base is undergoing a $4.5 billion reconstruction to become a modern military installation, emphasizing resilience and advanced capabilities. The rebuild effort includes 44 military projects and aims to host three F-35 squadrons, enhancing operational readiness.

Tyndall Air Force Base is currently undergoing extensive reconstruction valued at approximately $4.5 billion, following Hurricane Michael's devastation in October 2018. The project includes 44 military construction initiatives set to deliver over 120 new facilities, with significant milestones achieved including the completion of the Zone 1 Simulator Building for F-35 pilot training.
Seventeen major facilities are already operational, with ongoing construction on Hangar 1, which will support the evolving F-35 mission. The partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Air Force has been pivotal in this transformation, focusing on creating a resilient installation designed to withstand future storms. This modernization effort aims to enhance not only mission capability but also quality of life for personnel stationed at Tyndall.
