The UAE has partnered with Colossal Biosciences to establish the Colossal BioVault and World Preservation Lab at Dubai's Museum of the Future. This initiative aims to enhance global conservation efforts by cryogenically preserving genetic material from over 10,000 species, focusing initially on the 100 most imperiled species.

The project, backed by an initial investment of $60 million, emphasizes advanced technologies such as AI and robotics for sample monitoring and preservation. The BioVault will function as a research facility and educational hub, providing real-time insights into biodiversity efforts.

This collaboration positions the UAE as a leader in biotechnology and conservation, addressing the urgent biodiversity crisis where nearly half of Earth's species may face extinction by 2050. The initiative will also generate genomic data to inform conservation strategies globally.
