UAE and Jereh Group Collaborate on Clean Energy and Manufacturing Initiative
The UAE's Ministry of Investment has signed a MoU with China's Jereh Group to develop a clean energy platform, including SMR technology and an anode material manufacturing facility. This collaboration aims to enhance economic ties and position the UAE as a leader in advanced manufacturing and low-carbon energy solutions.

The UAE's Ministry of Investment has entered a memorandum of understanding with Jereh Group to create an integrated clean energy and industrial platform, targeting deployment of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology and an anode material manufacturing facility with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes annually. This initiative aligns with the UAE's Energy Strategy 2050, focusing on increasing low-carbon power within the energy mix and supporting domestic industrial capabilities.
The platform will be phased in over the next three to five years, fostering bilateral trade, which exceeded $100 billion in 2024. The Ministry will play a key role in facilitating Jereh Group's operations, enhancing the UAE's position as a global investment hub in energy security and sustainable development. This partnership reflects an ongoing commitment to innovation and industrial growth, potentially attracting further foreign direct investment.
