UAE and Korea Enhance Strategic Energy Cooperation
UAE and South Korea are expanding their strategic partnership in energy, nuclear power, and emerging technologies. This collaboration aims to address global energy security and leverage advanced technologies to promote sustainable development.

The Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs of the UAE, Eng. Sharif Al Olama, met with Kim Jung-kwan, South Korea's Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, to explore enhanced cooperation in energy sectors including nuclear power and renewable energy.
The discussion highlighted the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant as a successful model of international collaboration, with potential for joint ventures in third-country markets and advanced nuclear technologies. The UAE aims for 22 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2031, emphasizing a balanced energy mix.
The meeting also covered the role of artificial intelligence in energy efficiency and introduced the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance (GEEA) to facilitate international collaboration. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to innovation and sustainability in energy.
