UAE Military Signs $403M in Drone Contracts at UMEX 2026 in Abu Dhabi

During UMEX 2026 in Abu Dhabi, the UAE military awarded AED 1.4 billion ($403 million) in contracts to local defense companies, including AED 1.396 billion ($380 million) to EDGE Group for Anavia HT-750 drones. Additional contracts included AED 45.14 million ($12.3 million) for UAV R&D and AED 10.556 million ($2.876 million) for converting Nimr vehicles into UGVs.

EDGE's total from the exhibition reached approximately $635 million. Houbara Defense received AED 28 million ($7.63 million) for explosive ordnance disposal vehicles. General Atomics signed an MOU with Calidus Aerospace for possible coproduction of drones in the UAE. Shield AI showcased its X-BAT UAV, with interest from the UAE military, which has previously acquired V-BAT drones.
