Udhampur Airport Operations to Begin with ATR Flights in Months, Civilian Facilities Planned
ATR flight services from Udhampur are expected to commence in the next five to six months, with land transfer for a civilian airport underway. The expansion of healthcare services and infrastructure projects are also being prioritized to bolster local economic development.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced that ATR flight services will likely start from Udhampur within five to six months, while the process for land transfer for a full-fledged civilian airport has begun.
The Army Command Hospital Udhampur plans to extend super-speciality healthcare services to civilians, with quarterly health camps suggested for local populations. Additionally, the branding of the local dairy product Kaladi is underway under the One District One Product initiative.
The progress of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway is being monitored, expected to enhance regional connectivity and tourism. Singh also highlighted the need for improvements in the electricity distribution network and road connectivity projects under PMGSY, emphasizing timely execution and involvement of local MLAs.
