UK and Scottish Governments Break Ground on MiAlgae Biotech Plant in Grangemouth Amid Energy Transition Debate

The UK and Scottish governments have jointly initiated the construction of a new biotech plant in Grangemouth, led by Edinburgh-based MiAlgae, which aims to produce Omega-3s from whisky distilling by-products. Both governments are financially supporting this sustainable initiative. The Project Willow report proposes additional alternatives, including hydrogen production and plastic recycling.
