UK Invests £84 Million in Collaborative R&D for Electric and Sustainable Technologies
The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK has launched five R&D projects with £84 million in investment to enhance commercialization in the automotive sector. This initiative supports technologies focused on electric vehicles, rare-earth recycling, and advanced power electronics, vital for sustainable transport solutions.

Five collaborative R&D projects will receive over £84 million in investment, with £42 million sourced from the Department for Business and Trade’s DRIVE35 Collaborate programme. The projects encompass advancements in electric vehicle architectures, electric motorcycle powertrains, rare-earth recycling, and innovative power electronics.
Notable participants include Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan Motor Manufacturing, and various universities. These initiatives aim to reduce emissions, enhance logistics efficiency, and promote a circular economy for materials.
