His agenda includes briefings with various organizations on Taiwan Strait security, following the UK's condemnation of China's military exercises in the region. This visit marks Tugendhat's second trip to Taiwan, underscoring the UK's commitment to regional stability and dialogue.

UK Minister Tom Tugendhat is visiting Taiwan to meet with National Security Council Secretary-General Joseph Wu and attend a luncheon hosted by Deputy Foreign Minister Francois Wu. His itinerary includes briefing sessions with the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau and Doublethink Lab, as well as discussions on Taiwan Strait security with The Prospect Foundation, the Institute for National Defense and Security Research, and the Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation.
This marks Tugendhat's second visit to Taiwan. Recently, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office condemned China's military exercises around Taiwan, citing increased tensions and risks of escalation, emphasizing the need for resolution through dialogue. The UK has previously sent naval vessels through the Taiwan Strait, including HMS Richmond and HMS Spey.
