UK-Romania Trade and Defense Collaboration Set for Growth
UK-Romania bilateral trade reached a record £10.3 billion in 2025, marking a 4.9% increase from the previous year. The UK's defense and automotive sectors are now poised for deeper collaboration, leveraging integrated supply chains and technology transfer, as highlighted by the recent Black Sea Defence and Aerospace event.

Bilateral trade between the UK and Romania reached £10.3 billion in 2025, an increase of 4.9% from 2024. Approximately £1.3 billion worth of automobiles were exported from Romania to the UK, comprising nearly a third of all UK imports from Romania.
The UK had its first national pavilion at BSDA 2026, showcasing eight British companies. Investments in renewable energy, particularly in onshore wind, are estimated at £4.5 billion from major UK investors.
The UK-Romania partnership is expected to strengthen in sectors like defense, with aims to integrate supply chains and enhance technology partnerships. Continued efforts to simplify business operations and reduce market access barriers are critical for future growth.
