Ukraine and Poland Strengthen Bilateral Relations Amid Ongoing Conflict
Ukraine's Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, reflected on a year of productive relations marked by defense cooperation, economic growth, and historical reconciliation efforts. Poland has delivered 46 military assistance packages to Ukraine, with a 47th valued at €220-230 million expected soon.
Bilateral trade reached USD 13 billion in 2023, with projections of USD 16-17 billion for the year. The countries are also modernizing border crossings and managing sensitive historical issues through newly established working groups for search and exhumation operations.
Approximately 2 million Ukrainians currently reside in Poland, contributing significantly to its economy, while discussions continue for a €120 million loan for Ukrainian defense needs. Cooperation in air defense and logistics remains crucial as both nations navigate ongoing challenges related to Russian aggression.
