Ukraine and Turkmenistan Finalize Gas Debt Agreement and Project Collaborations
Ukraine and Turkmenistan have reached an agreement regarding the repayment of Ukrainian gas delivery debts through goods and project collaborations. This partnership includes the construction of a dock at Turkmenbashi and participation in innovation projects.

Ukraine will cover gas delivery debts to Turkmenistan by providing goods and engaging in project collaborations, including construction projects scheduled to start next year. The agreement entails the delivery of 40 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Ukraine in 2002 at a price of USD 42 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Anatoliy Kinakh noted significant progress, emphasizing the planned participation of Ukrainian enterprises in the reconstruction of Turkmenbashi port and in constructing metallurgical and aluminum plants. This collaboration may enhance bilateral economic ties and facilitate energy security for Ukraine.
