President Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 214/2026, allowing military personnel with IT skills to obtain officer ranks, specifically as junior lieutenants in digital transformation roles. Selection for these positions involves an initial screening by commanders followed by document verification and interviews conducted by the Ministry of Defense.

This initiative aims to integrate IT professionals into the Defense Forces to enhance Ukraine's technological capabilities. The Ministry is establishing an 'IT vertical' of specialists to implement digital systems and gather feedback from soldiers, with public vacancies for these roles to be announced soon.
