Ukraine Enables IT Specialists to Obtain Officer Ranks for Military Digital Transformation
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 214/2026, allowing military personnel with IT expertise to achieve officer ranks. Mobilized personnel selected for digital roles can be granted the rank of junior lieutenant. The selection involves initial screening by commanders and verification by the Ministry of Defense. This initiative aims to enhance Ukraine's technological capabilities in the military through an 'IT vertical' of specialists at all levels.
