Ukraine Exceeds Winter Gas Storage Goals Ahead of Schedule
Ukraine has stored 14.6 billion cubic meters of gas, meeting its 2026-2027 winter target a month early. This achievement highlights the country's readiness for the upcoming heating season amid ongoing threats to its energy infrastructure.

Ukraine has successfully accumulated 14.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas in underground storage, achieving its target for the 2026-2027 heating season ahead of schedule. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that preparations are ongoing in other areas as well.
The country remains vulnerable to potential Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure, prompting assistance from approximately 40 nations. Since the beginning of the year, nearly €507 million has been raised for the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, underscoring international support for its energy resilience efforts. The early achievement of storage goals may enhance Ukraine's energy security during the winter months.
