Ukraine to Join European Drone Technology Hub Initiative
Ukraine will participate in a network of drone technology hubs aimed at enhancing defense capabilities. The initiative involves collaboration between 23 nations to improve industrial cooperation and security against drone threats.

A network of drone technology hubs is set to be established, with Ukraine playing a significant role alongside 23 participating nations. The first center is projected to open in 2027, with locations planned in Latvia and Northern Europe.
The initiative includes both governmental and industry advisory layers, emphasizing the need for integrated efforts across countries to address drone-related threats. The European Commission's Action Plan on Drone and Counter Drone Security, released on February 11, 2026, aims to enhance defense readiness and foster collaboration within the drone sector. This initiative is foundational to the European Drone Defense Initiative and aligns with the 2030 Defense Readiness Roadmap, emphasizing the importance of a unified approach to tackle drone threats.
