Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska Reviews Barrier-Free Initiative Progress
First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska reported on the progress of the 'Barrier-Free' initiative and the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment, which involves 25 ongoing projects, 11 launched this year. Key projects include the 'Development of the Rehabilitation System' with 358 inpatient and 505 outpatient facilities, and 'Active Parks' providing adaptive sports to over 85,000 visitors.
Other initiatives include 'Barrier-Free Driving Schools' with seven operational locations, digital transformation of consular services through the e-Consul system, and support for veterans with over 500,000 consultations provided. The Ministry of Social Policy manages several programs including 'Supported Living' with 14 homes and 'Early Intervention' assisting over 2,700 children.
The Ministry of Defense has also met the clothing needs of servicewomen and distributed over 450,000 adaptive clothing units. Accessibility projects are underway in various sectors including education, digital services, and the labor market.
