In 2025, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported a significant increase in domestic military procurement, with locally produced weapons, equipment, and ammunition rising from 46% to 82%, totaling nearly UAH 430 billion. This shift aims to enhance innovation and reduce reliance on imports, which decreased to 18%. The Defense Procurement Agency plans to refine procurement strategies for 2026 by focusing on production localization and diversification of supplies.

In 2025, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense increased its procurement of domestically produced military goods, with the share of weapons, equipment, and ammunition from local manufacturers rising from 46% to 82%. The total volume of procurement from Ukrainian manufacturers reached nearly UAH 430 billion.
The shift to domestic suppliers allows for faster innovation and tailored military solutions while decreasing reliance on imports, which fell from 54% to 18%. The Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) plans to enhance procurement strategies in 2026 by incorporating criteria such as production localization and supply diversification. The DOT has also begun planning for 2026 categories of clothing and equipment for the Armed Forces, including various protective gear.
