The 2nd Khartia Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard announced the formation of the 7th Artillery Brigade, known as the Hrehit Brigade, on April 6, 2026. First reported in February 2026 through recruitment advertisements, the brigade's nickname is derived from Mount Hrehit in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
Lieutenant Colonel Vitalii Korniienko has been appointed as its commander, and the unit is classified as Military Unit Number 3042. This addition follows the recent establishment of the 23rd Assault Regiment from the 4th Operational Battalion, aligning with a directive from Minister of Interior Ihor Klymenko to enhance the National Guard's structure. The brigade has a distinctive insignia featuring a Ukrainian Tryzub and is expected to significantly bolster the corps' fire support capabilities.
