UMGC Secures DoD Contract for Military Education Services through 2031
UMGC has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to provide educational services to military personnel in the Middle East and North Africa, extending through the 2030-2031 academic year. This agreement ensures continued access to flexible academic options for active-duty servicemembers during deployments and relocations.

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) will support U.S. military personnel under a new contract with the U.S. Department of Defense starting July 31, 2026, through the academic year 2030-2031.
Educational services will be offered at 12 sites across eight countries: Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. UMGC will provide undergraduate and select graduate coursework, as well as manage national test centers, catering to military learners' unique schedules and demands. This initiative highlights the importance of education continuity for servicemembers during their assignments, potentially enhancing retention and academic success amidst challenging conditions.
