Union Finance Ministry Approves Rs 15,431 Crore Four-Laning of NH-15 in Assam
The Union Finance Ministry has recommended the four-laning of the 136-km Baihata Chariali-Mission Chariali stretch of NH-15 in Assam, with an estimated cost of Rs 15,431 crore. The project will widen 71 km of the existing highway and develop 65 km of new greenfield stretches. It includes infrastructure upgrades like 15 bridges, 19 flyovers, and 43 underpasses, and features an Emergency Landing Facility near Tezpur Air Force Station. The project aims to improve traffic flow and economic connectivity across northern Assam, part of a larger infrastructure initiative.

It includes 15 major bridges, 19 flyovers, and 43 underpasses, enhancing traffic flow and safety. An Emergency Landing Facility will be developed near Tezpur Air Force Station. Five bypasses are planned to reduce urban congestion. This initiative is part of a broader push to improve Assam's road connectivity and economic integration.
