Unitree Launches GD01, First Production-Ready Manned Robot
Unitree has introduced the GD01, the world's first mass-produced manned robot, priced from $650,000. The launch reflects advancements in China's robotics sector, with a target of selling 20,000 humanoid robots in 2026.
Unitree Robotics has unveiled the GD01, a manned robot that transitions between bipedal and quadrupedal movement. Weighing approximately 500 kg and starting at 3.9 million yuan ($650,000), this machine signifies a major shift in the company's product line from robot dogs to humanoid systems.
Following significant developments, including a Buddhist ceremony in Seoul where a humanoid robot took vows, Unitree aims to sell 20,000 humanoid robots in 2026, up from 5,500 in 2025. This advancement may increase competition in the global robotics market as the firm prepares for a potential listing on Shanghai's STAR Market.
