University of Hawaiʻi Secures $11.9M Air Force Contract for Satellite Resiliency Research

DEFENSE

The University of Hawaiʻi has received an $11,980,000 cost-no-fee contract from the US Department of War to conduct satellite resiliency research and modeling in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory's Maui High Performance Computing Center. The project, aimed at enhancing Pacific Architecture for Rapid Space Exploitation and Control, will take place in Maui County and is scheduled for completion by May 1, 2031.

The award follows a competitive acquisition process under the Directed Energy Technology Experimentation and Research initiative. At the time of the award, $1,778,584 in fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds were obligated. The contracting activity is based at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.
