University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Launches Nanoengineering Center for Multidisciplinary Research

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has established the Nanoengineering Center within the UTC Research Institute, transitioning from the CEACSE Convergent Research Initiative. This center focuses on nano-enabled solutions in energy, health, and defense, with Associate Professor Murat Barisik as director.

It aims to enhance faculty collaboration, partnerships with national laboratories and industry, and student engagement in research. The center will utilize AI-guided multiscale modeling for research scalability, develop advanced nanomaterials, and support training initiatives for a diverse range of students, while continuing existing collaborations with the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation.
