US Air Force Awards $25 Million Contract to ZAC for Cognitive Explainable-AI Development
Z Advanced Computing, Inc. (ZAC) has been awarded a $25 million sole-source contract by the US Air Force to develop its Cognitive Explainable Artificial Intelligence (CXAI) technology, which is essential for achieving Level-5 autonomous driving. CXAI aims to provide human-level situational awareness, enabling fully autonomous vehicles without human intervention. The technology promises reduced training sample requirements and lower computational resources compared to existing AI algorithms.

The US Air Force has awarded Z Advanced Computing, Inc. (ZAC) a $25 million sole-source contract for the development of Cognitive Explainable Artificial Intelligence (CXAI). This technology is critical for achieving Level-5 autonomous driving, allowing vehicles to operate without human assistance in all conditions.
CXAI requires significantly fewer training samples compared to traditional algorithms and offers advantages in computational efficiency, energy consumption, and overall costs. The project is led by Dr. Saied Tadayon, a distinguished scientist with a PhD from Cornell University.
