US Air Force Pursues Stand-In Attack System for F-47 and B-21 Integration
DEFENSE
The US Air Force is seeking a stand-in attack system compatible with the upcoming F-47 fighter and B-21 Raider bomber to enhance battlefield agility. The Stand-In Attack Weapon (SiAW) program aims to develop modular, rapid-deploy weapons systems that can counter various threats.
The program is currently in the Middle Tier Acquisition phase, with initial production expected around 2030, following a $700 million allocation to Northrop Grumman. Testing will focus on core capabilities through 2025, with the first prototype test-firing planned for November 2024. The system is intended to offer multi-role versatility and integrate seamlessly with existing aircraft.
