U.S. Air Force to Replace Air Force One with Boeing 747-8 Amid Delays
The U.S. Air Force is set to replace its aging Boeing 747-200B Air Force One aircraft with a new Boeing 747-8, following a contract awarded to Boeing in 2023, with delivery anticipated in 2027. The new aircraft, gifted by Qatar's ruling family and facilitated by Jared Kushner, is currently undergoing retrofitting to meet security standards, with funding for integration included in the FY24 budget and expected completion by late 2026.

The U.S. Air Force is replacing the Boeing 747-200B Air Force One aircraft, which are nearing the end of their service life. In 2023, the Air Force awarded Boeing a contract for the next generation Air Force One based on the 747-8, with delivery expected in 2027.
