US and UK Establish Joint Data Standards for Counter-Drone Technologies
The US and UK have signed a Joint Declaration of Intent to create common data standards for counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS). This initiative aims to enhance interoperability and speed up the deployment of anti-drone capabilities. The agreement, led by Joint Interagency Task Force 401, will allow US and UK forces to share detection and tracking data effectively, improving situational awareness. Initial efforts will expand access to the JIATF-401 marketplace to 25 countries by summer 2026.

The US and UK have signed a Joint Declaration of Intent to establish common data standards for counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) technologies, aimed at improving interoperability and expediting the deployment of anti-drone capabilities. This agreement, led by Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401), addresses the challenge of incompatible data formats in C-UAS systems.
By adopting a shared standard, both forces will enhance data sharing for better situational awareness. The US Army plans to expand access to the JIATF-401 marketplace to 25 countries by summer 2026. Efforts to harmonize counter-drone capabilities continue across allied nations, with ongoing joint projects and partnerships.
