The facility will accommodate up to 128 service members and is expected to create 200 direct and 150 indirect jobs, while generating $1.8 million in local construction taxes. This project emphasizes the Army's commitment to the local community and aims to enhance training and operational readiness in the Caribbean.

On March 23, the U.S. Army conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for an Advanced Skills Training Barracks at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, with an investment of $22 million. The project will house up to 128 service members, improve living conditions, and contribute to economic growth by generating 200 direct and 150 indirect jobs.
It is anticipated to provide approximately $1.8 million in construction-related taxes to Guaynabo. F&R Construction, Inc. will lead the project with 13 local subcontractors, highlighting the Army's investment in Puerto Rico. Fort Buchanan supports around 15,000 military personnel, aiming to enhance readiness and deployment capabilities.
