US Army Corps of Engineers Advances Salton Sea Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and partners met in Imperial County on February 22-23 to discuss progress on the Salton Sea Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study. The study aims to identify restoration projects addressing ecological and public health issues caused by the Salton Sea's degradation. A cost-share agreement was signed in December 2022 with the California Department of Water Resources and Salton Sea Authority. The study evaluates 12 alternatives, including water pumping and dust suppression, to propose a feasible restoration plan.
