U.S. Army Corps to Initiate $9.25 Million Grand Haven Pier Upgrade in April 2026
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin a $9.25 million project at Grand Haven's North Pier in April 2026, aimed at reducing wave energy and improving safety for vessels. The project includes replacing sheet metal with stone revetment and adding a raised walkway. Construction will continue through 2028, funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Great Lakes Dock and Materials, LLC has been contracted for the work.

This construction is expected to last until 2028 and is financed through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Great Lakes Dock and Materials, LLC was awarded the contract in September 2025. The North Pier will be closed to pedestrians during this period, with temporary waterborne closures affecting the area.
