US Army General Vowell to Visit Nepal for Military Engagements

Lieutenant General Joel Vowell, Deputy Commanding General for US Army Pacific, is arriving in Kathmandu for a three-day visit. He is the highest-ranking US army general to visit Nepal following the March 5 election.
Vowell will visit the Birendra Peace Operations Training Center in Kavre district, observing Nepal Army activities. His visit, coordinated by the US Embassy, may include meetings with Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel. This visit follows recent discussions between US and Indian military leaders about regional security and military cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, highlighting the US commitment to strengthening ties with Nepal.
