U.S. Army Orders $203M in Second-Generation Manpack Radios from L3Harris and Collins Aerospace
The U.S. Army has placed a $203.2 million order for second-generation manpack radios with L3Harris Technologies and Collins Aerospace. This order, which includes 3,440 radios (1,720 each), is part of a low-rate production effort ahead of an operational test to inform a full-rate production decision next fiscal year. Deliveries will commence in the first quarter of fiscal 2021 and support the Army's Integrated Tactical Network and modernization efforts.

The U.S. Army has awarded L3Harris Technologies and Collins Aerospace a $203.2 million contract for second-generation manpack radios, with each company receiving orders for 1,720 units. This order is part of the Army's third low-rate production phase and will begin delivery in the first quarter of fiscal 2021.
The radios are integral to the Integrated Tactical Network (ITN), which aims to enhance battlefield communications and capabilities. L3Harris will provide AN/PRC-158 multi-channel radios worth $95 million, while Collins will supply AN/PRC-162 ground radios valued at approximately $108 million, both under a broader $12.7 billion contract.
