DEFENSE

US Secretary of the Army Daniel P Driscoll met with Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi to discuss strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and military engagement between the United States and India. This meeting follows a trend of increasing defence ties, as evidenced by previous visits and agreements, including Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K.

Tripathi's visit to the US in November to enhance maritime partnerships. Recent US military sales to India, including the FGM-148 Javelin missile system and M982A1 Excalibur projectiles valued at USD 47.1 million, highlight this cooperation. Additionally, a 10-year Defence Framework Agreement was signed, further solidifying the strategic alignment between the two nations.
