US Army to Inactivate TRADOC and Merge with Army Futures Command to Form New Command in Texas

On September 26, 2025, the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) was officially inactivated at Fort Eustis after 52 years. This decision follows a merger that has been under discussion since May, aimed at streamlining operations.
TRADOC, which manages soldier training, education, and development, will combine with Army Futures Command to create the Army Transformation and Training Command, based in Austin, Texas. A ceremony marking TRADOC's inactivation took place on September 25.
