U.S. Army to Release CAML Prototype Proposal Request for Multi-Domain Launcher Vendors
The U.S. Army plans to issue a request for prototype proposals for the Common Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher (CAML) program by the end of December 2025. Army CTO Alex Miller stated that the new approach will include three or four vendors instead of the initially planned two, fostering a 'teams of teams' model similar to its Next Generation Command and Control program.
This model aims to integrate various capabilities from weapon system integrators and autonomous platform providers. The goal is to develop an autonomous launcher that can adapt to different munitions on demand, allowing for rapid configuration based on mission requirements. The Army is building on existing research while shifting focus to the autonomous mobility platform and its interfaces for power and data.
