U.S. Energy Strategy Focuses on Nuclear Expansion and Fossil Fuels
The Trump administration implements a new energy strategy aiming to quadruple nuclear capacity from 100 GW to 400 GW by 2050, supported by uranium supply investments. Oil production reached 13.6 million barrels per day in 2025, and natural gas production hit 109 billion cubic feet daily.
The Energy Dominance Financing program allocates €2.3 billion for low-enriched uranium and €682 million for small modular reactors. Gas prices have fallen to under €2.5 per gallon in 43 states due to increased production. The U.S. is restoring its Strategic Petroleum Reserve and removing regulatory barriers on LNG exports, with expectations to double LNG exports by the end of the decade.
