The Pax Silica summit, launched in December 2025, has grown to include over 20 member countries, emphasizing collaboration in AI supply chains. Jacob Helberg, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, highlighted South Korea's pivotal role in this initiative during the summit at the Donald J.
Trump Peace Institute. The summit introduced the 'AI Opportunity Declaration,' committing members to develop resilient supply chains and trusted technology ecosystems. Helberg also announced the 'Foundry School' to train leaders in advanced manufacturing.
The U.S. aims to diversify supply chains, particularly in critical minerals, and enhance trilateral cooperation with South Korea and Japan to mitigate supply disruptions. This shift reflects a strategic move to reduce dependence on China and prioritize economic security through trusted partnerships.
