U.S. Marine Corps Revives H-1 Fleet Replacement Efforts with Upcoming RFI
The U.S. Marine Corps is set to release a market survey this summer to initiate the replacement of the Bell A/UH-1 helicopter fleet post-2040. This move revives the Future Attack Strike (FAST) program, which had been dormant for seven years, and aims to gather industry insights on technological advancements.

A market survey will be released by the U.S. Marine Corps this summer to restart the aircraft requirements process for the Future Attack Strike (FAST) program, intended to replace the Bell A/UH-1 fleet after 2040.
This initiative follows a seven-year hiatus since the Attack Utility Replacement Aircraft (AURA) planning was halted. The request for information (RFI) will seek industry input on technologies relevant to the FAST program, with a $9.325 million budget allocation for conceptual design and analysis.
The Marine Corps aims to refine requirements based on this feedback, exploring various aircraft configurations, including manned and unmanned options. Following the AURA program's suspension, the Marines have focused on modernizing existing AH-1Z and UH-1Y fleets, enhancing capabilities with new weapon systems.
